Muse have had a track of theirs named as the greatest riff of the past decade.

The poll, which was conducted by Total Guitar magazine, put their track 'Plug In Baby' from their 2001 album 'Origin of Symmetry' at the top spot. They also made it in to number five with their track 'Knights of Cydonia' from their 2006 album 'Black Holes and Revelations'.

Other acts to make the top 10 include Velvet Revolver for their track 'Slither', Avenged Sevenfold for 'Afterlife', riff-laden tech metallers Dream Theater for 'The Dark Eternal Night' and Queens of the Stoneage for 'No One Knows'.

In 2004, the magazine published a 'greatest riffs of all time' poll, in which 'Plug In Baby' made it to number 13, one spot ahead of Led Zeppelin's 'Black Dog'
