Slits Singer Passes Away

Ari Up, singer with The Slits, has died at the age of 48.
The news was broken by John Lydon, who’s married to Ari Up’s mother. He posted the following: ” John and Nora have asked us to let everyone know that Nora’s daughter
Arianna (aka Ari Up) died today (Wednesday, October 20) after a serious illness. She will be sadly missed”.
Born in Munich, Ari Up formed The Slits in 1974. They released two albums, 1979’s Cut and Return Of The Giant Slits two years later. The band, who split up in 1982, reformed in 2005.
