Days before the release of their Hurley album, Rivers Cuomo has admitted that Weezer are already at work on studio album number nine.

He said, 'we just started working on our 10th record. I was talking to the producer and he was saying 'These songs sound totally different from Hurley. Hurley was kind of dark, and the new songs sound like you're 16, riding your bicycle to get a Slurpee',' he continued.
Counting their forthcoming collection of odds and ends, previously titled Odds And Ends but now named Death To False Metal, the next record would mean Weezer would have put together five albums since 2008.
Cuomo also cleared up the misconception that the album was named as a stunt to promote surf-brand Hurley and expressed bewilderment about the media circus around the cover, featuring Jorge Garcia of Lost fame.
